Cherie DeVaux discusses life after Kentucky Derby win
Cherie DeVaux became the first woman to train a Kentucky Derby winner when Golden Tempo surged to victory on May 2, 2026. DeVaux, who hails from southwest Florida and attended Florida Gulf Coast University for two years, started her own stable eight years ago and won the Derby on her first entry. She told reporters what's next is "up to the horse," and the win, only the second time a female trainer has taken a Triple Crown race after Jena Antonucci's 2023 Belmont, raises the profile of women trainers and should attract more opportunities and investment for her stable.
HERStory made at the Kentucky Derby,,, Congratulationz Cherie Devaux on making history and earning yourself an invite to Flavor Flav’s SHE Weekend in Las Vegas so the world can celebrate you,!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Flavor Flav is undefeated in being a wonderful human.
Horse racing is as cruel and barbaric a sport as greyhound racing. Ban both, globally.
Flav bringing the decency and love once again. In this sad age of cancerous MAGA-polluted shittiness, Flav remains a mensch & role model for all men. ❤️
Your support of women athletes is so wonderful to see. I hope others take note!
Women are rock stars ⭐️
Look at the close-up of this photo taken by ABR Live of Golden Tempo and Cherie DeVaux the morning after their win in the #KYDerby. They love each other unconditionally.
Look at his eyes, ears, muzzle and nostrils. Look at the tips of her fingers, base of her palm, her jawbone, cheek, eyes, expression. Epic for now. And legend over time. It’s a privilege to see it. @phippsstablefan.bsky.social
What a beautiful shot! You can see how relaxed and happy Golden Tempo is with her. That trust is priceless.
