BBC Laura Kuenssberg panel questions Richard Tice over Farage gift
On BBC's Laura Kuenssberg, Reform UK leader Richard Tice was pressed about Nigel Farage's £5 million gift and whether other undeclared large donations exist. Laura Kuenssberg asked whether Farage had declared the £5 million and whether any other undisclosed gifts were involved, and Tice refused to answer. Kuenssberg also asked Tice to condemn a Reform UK councillor WHO said people should 'melt Nigerians to fill in potholes,' and Tice declined to condemn the remark. The exchange matters because it raises questions about political funding transparency and whether Reform UK will repudiate racist statements from its representatives ahead of upcoming elections.
Inviting on Nadine Dorries, who did not make a single spoken contribution in the House of Commons for over 13 months before her resignation in August 2023, is an insult to viewers. If she didn't take her job seriously, why should she be given a platform to opine about those who do? #bbclaurak
Does the BBC think that anyone gives a rats arse what Dorries thinks or says? Seriously??
An anti Labour panel again this week there’s a surprise !😳
Exactly. Bet she also mentioned that hideous sack of lying custard a few times; that's an insult, too. NO ONE wants to even be reminded of them.
Harsh. As the staunchest defender of a PM who was clearly due for the nacker's yard, she is the perfect guest.
You could also say that anyone still watching Kuenssberg is asking to have their intelligence insulted...
She's a total fucking idiot. Inviting her to a cake sale is an insult to scones.
Just wait until the GE. She will be running for Reform just to confirm the 2019-24 Tory/Reform coalition.
Dumb as a pile of bricks, likes to frequent the many cheap bars in Parliament, and a love-struck Johnson groupie.
Because Laura K is a sycophantic Tory rat why is she still at the BBC and not GBNews
If Farage can be given a £5million bung that was only discovered by the Guardian, how much more has Farage & other Reform MP’s been given by untraceable crypto transfers? #BBCLauraK
This is a major constitutional issue and need investigation by not just the Met but by our secret services, this has the hallmarks of foreign interference in our political system by both state and other private actors.
When you read the parliamentary rules on this it becomes obvious why many wouldn't declare large sums. The level of accountability is pathetic.
Hideous racist communication from Sunderland councillor dismissed as 'people saying daft things' by Richard Tice Shameful and telling #BBCLauraK
Can only imagine the media uproar if it had been a labour councillor saying we should melt down all Jews to fill in potholes Reform's racism is now factored in #bbclaurak
An as ever LK wouldn’t challenge and even do her homework before the interview, BBC has lost all credibility 🤬
But Reform get invited to an antisemitism vigil. Unfortunately right wing Jewish groups in the UK are more worried about the Greens' policies than they are racism/antisemitism.
And did she push back? I think we all know the answer to that.
“The State wouldn’t provide funding for the security of Nigel” Tice says to #bbclaurak . Why would the state provide security if Farage , as he has said himself, was a private citizen not even considering running to be an MP when the £5m was given?
That’s a very good question. Perhaps the presenter of the show might know someone curious enough to ask?
You'll be shocked to know they don't provide me with any security either.
That was more party political broadcast than an interview. Totally Trumpian. Can’t wait for them to be in No 10!
So Richard "stupid" Tice doesn't seem to realise what he just said on #BBClaurak Basically, that Farage wasn't thinking of going back into politics... until he received the £5million. Funny that eh?
So either a bribe or a direct payment for a service which I think under the circs is also a bribe.
Also, maybe Farage wasn't standing as an MP at the time, but he was literally the honorary president (and owner!) of Reform and very active on social media. That is hardly "not being involved in politics". It's utter bullshit and Reform are simply trying to fight their way out of a tricky corner.
