West Ham's late equaliser against Arsenal was ruled out after VAR determined Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya had been fouled during a corner. Match officials cited grappling and impeding of Raya as the reason the goal was disallowed. Football lawmakers have opened a review of corner grappling rules in direct response to the incident. The ruling split expert opinion, one former professional called it "so wrong" while others defended VAR, and could change how referees police set-piece contact and decide late-game goals.

Dear Mr. Webb, Can you please explain to us why PGMOL referee Chris Kavanaugh and VAR Darren England applied the correct processes to establishing the breach of laws governing fouls on a goalkeeper? We believe a surplus of player/pundit/fan whataboutary & ignorance merits consideration.

I don't think you'll ever see a better advert for VAR. Unfortunately, football isn't just entertainment. At that moment - the relative futures of three clubs, huge amounts of money, the careers of players and the jobs of staff were all resting on that decision. It needed to be right

VAR is corrupt. The Leeds penalty they were desperate not to give and the West Ham disallowed goal are just the latest examples of how easily manipulated it is. Don't get me wrong, it's undoubtedly here to stay, but the way it's administered is absolutely farcical
