Starting to think that Vance’s best bet for 2028 is to resign after the midterm elections. Trump would likely pick Rubio to replace Vance, which would saddle Rubio with Trump’s baggage. Probably not enough to get Vance a victory in ’28—but could well offer a better chance than otherwise.
