Today's Bird Of The Day weekly photo event set the main theme as WaterDroplets with an alternate theme of Robins. Photographers posted species-focused images including an American Robin (Turdus migratorius) bathing, a Dark-eyed Junco (Junco hyemalis) amid frozen droplets, an Australian Hardhead (Aythya australis), and Elegant Terns (Thalasseus elegans) catching splashes. One submission showed a robin foraging by flicking debris aside and another showed a robin basking in early April sunshine in the Adirondacks. Pairing water-droplet action with robins highlights both technical bird-photography skills and everyday wild-bird behavior worth exploring for photographers and nature lovers.

A medium-sized gray and orange bird is perched on a wooden structure. This is an American Robin. In spring and summer, they eat large numbers of earthworms and are often seen foraging on the ground. I was lucky to get a photo of this one when it took a break from breakfast.
