so Xabi Alonso is going to chelsea. He goes from a team where players didn’t listen to him (Madrid) to a team where the ownership feels they know everything and will tell him what to do. don’t really get it, but maybe he didn’t receive assurances from Liverpool that they’d sack Slot.

I am so confused as to why Xabi Alonso thinks it's a good idea to take the Chelsea job, and even more confused as to what the hurry is, why he doesn't give it a couple of weeks to see if other opportunities emerge.

Dad was very close to Xabi Alonso when at LFC. For years after he left, Xabi'd fly Dad to a game wherever he was playing. Think Norm was in more of Xabi's wedding photos than Xabi was. He reached out to say what a great man Dad was when he passed. Going to be weird having a likeable Chelsea boss.
