Chelsea denied penalty after Joao Pedro appeal in FA Cup final
Joao Pedro had a penalty appeal rejected after contact with Manchester City's Uzbekistan international during the goalless first half at Wembley. The referee consulted VAR, which ruled there was insufficient contact and no clear and obvious error, so no spot kick was awarded. That decision deprived underdogs Chelsea of a clear chance to take the lead in a tightly contested final and shaped the match's momentum.
Best thing about this FA Cup final is that it's over.

It was a really good finish. And smart to block Cucurella from an offside position. Otherwise, I can't remember a single thing that happened other than Khusanov's trademark pulls from behind.
As someone else elegantly said.. city, the lance Armstrong of the prem
It’s no 2007 cup final though, undisputed king of dreadful cup finals.
Ironically from a Machiavellian POV Arsenal fans needed to go to extra time but I agree with you!
It's a problem when no prem team takes the cup seriously. Relegation-threatened teams focus on staying up. Mid-table teams focus on getting into Europe. Top teams focus on getting into the CL. As such, most commonly, the big teams with the strongest squads do well by default
The 3pm kick off preventing evening meal arrangements being jeopardised is a major plus…🙂
Even as a city fan I agree!
A game that will go down in the anals of history.
Modern football has peaked when both teams have an asterisk
i thought it was a really good game. at least chelsea turned up. wasn't virtually a walkover like the league cup final.
