Bruce Springsteen performs 'Streets of Minneapolis' on Colbert and criticizes Trump
Springsteen brought us to tears tonight with his performance of Streets of Minneapolis on Colbert.
It felt like viewing an historical event that will go down in history as an echoing demand for justice in the darkest of ages.
Let’s send Stephen out with the best ratings of his career, and leave CBS high and dry. Watch the Late Show finale TONIGHT. Spread the word! mdavis19881.substack.com/p/a-fond-far...
youtu.be/GDaPdpwA4Iw?... worth posting and sharing here ❤️
We watch Stephen Colbert all the way down in Australia, love & going to miss him. I knew he would get Bruce in for his last hoorah💙💛💙
It’s a call for the 70% who are sick of this to march on D.C. and clog it up and stop it until change happens. That ballroom is a bunker being built for him to stay forever.
You know I was never as fond of Springsteen as I am these days.
Everything in this time brings me to tears. I feel like an abused person who needs a restraining order against my country
The words in this song says everything, Springsteen you are America Strong and Free
An artist who creates from times of crisis.
That's why they call him the Boss . A true patriot who loves this country and doing his part to preserve democracy ❤️
I would love to attend but won't cross the border....what an experience...glad you were there.
I certainly cried. What a performance!
tRump ain't shit. Bruce is the BOSS!
A hero for these times.
That song will do it.
Rock & Roll bands better come forth NOW The Boss stands alone ??????
I can’t listen to this song and not cry. Bruce nailed it once again. And so glad he performed it on Colbert this week!
He made me all the more dedicated to continuing the fight. We have to.💙
Renee and Alex and all the others killed by Republican fascism and their so called police. Never forget.
I got to see him perform this at #nokings in St Paul. The Boss continues to be an absolute legend.
Very impactful many tears wonderful job Boss 💙
Amazing performance. So honored I was able to witness it.
Every movement has its songs. They matter.
Minnesotan here. I cried through the whole thing. Boycott CBS, Paramount and their advertisers!

Couldn’t love this man anymore! This is what patriotism looks like. 💪
Kudos to The Boss, who is on a major tour, for taking some time off to support his friend, Stephen Colbert, as he moves on to bigger and brighter opportunities. Loved his opening words before he sang his heart out. Spineless CBS and DJT can kiss our 💙 arses! 🎤😎🎸
❤️👊 #Bruce. #Minneapolis. ❤️🩹 I think Colbert and @brucespringsteen.net would love this one too if they heard it. * RISE. THIS. WAY. *
Thank you Bruce! I’ve been a fan of yours since I was very young. Still today driving along in the nicest car I’ve ever owned, when your on the radio goes up and my fingers are dancing. Streets of Minneapolis is different for me, no dancing I sit and listen with a tear in my eye.
My dad wasn't initially interested in going to see Springsteen on this political tour, bought us tickets only when Tom Morello joined. It had: -multiple political speeches, songs -Tom shredding on his "Arm the Homeless" guitar -lyric changes to skewer Trump -Bruce leading chants of "ICE out now!"
Political songs included (but not limited to): Born in the USA, Streets of Minneapolis, American Skin (41 shots), Youngstown, Ghost of Tom Joad. In other words, a show for me haha But I just asked my dad how he liked it, he said "I didn't mind the political stuff, because he's right"
We loved that show. As to the criticism of Springsteen being a rich man singing about the working class - what’s the use of privilege if you aren’t using it for good?
Wait… let’s stop and say just how cool your dad is to be like ‘oh hey Tom Morello is joining Springsteen’s tour.. let’s get tickets!’ #cooldads
