Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu opens in theaters

Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu opened in theaters this week, bringing Din Djarin and Grogu to the big screen in a feature-length outing. Critics praised Grogu and the father-son chemistry, and a three-and-a-half-star review highlighted the score, production design, and emotional beats. Reviewers also noted the film feels episodic and TV-like, functioning more like several season-quality episodes stitched together with low-stakes action and surprise cameos. The release matters because it tests adapting popular streaming characters for theaters while delivering a crowd-pleasing, family-friendly Star Wars entry for the summer movie season.
