Nearly 60 Idahoans sick after drinking raw milk
The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare says nearly 60 Idahoans became ill after drinking raw milk in the past two weeks. Officials linked the illnesses to raw milk from dairies in North Idaho and southern Idaho but did not disclose the dairies' names while investigators work. The department is investigating patient interviews and laboratory testing to identify the pathogen and trace distribution. Raw milk can carry bacteria such as Salmonella, E. coli, and Listeria, so this cluster underscores the public health risk of consuming unpasteurized milk.
Idaho health officials are investigating how nearly 60 people got sick after drinking raw milk in the past two weeks. The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare says they didn't name two dairies potentially linked to the outbreak “because this is a potential risk for any raw milk producer.”
Un-FREAKING-believable the State is now in the business of protecting raw milk producers responsible for sickening Idahoans 🤬
Gonna take a wild stab and say it’s the raw milk.
Cow poop for the win! Again. Anyone who has spent time on a dairy farm won’t drink raw milk. All it takes is missing a tiny amount of cow shit on an udder-udders are covered in shit almost constantly-and the entire milking session batch is contaminated. Don’t believe me? Ask Ballerina Farms.
On the one hand, they definitely are all risky. On the other hand, if you produce a product that might make people sick you *should* be driven out of business, preferably *before* it happens but definitely *after*.
you thought we figured out how to make milk safe like 150 years ago? guess again, fucko. we’re starting over.
It's a potential risk to all raw milk producers. Ironically not giving a name suggests they're all equally risky.
If only there had been a way to prevent this….
There is a reason why we pasteurize fresh milk. I know….science is boring.
Sooooo...maybe, just maybe, State Health Departments should be in the business of making sure people don't drink unpasteurized milk. Just spitballin' here.
"I'm something of an investigator myself." 🕵️♀️
I'm gonna take a WAG* that that got sick from drinking raw milk. * wild ass guess
What part of the cow is directly above the udder?
Here's a thought. We should come up with a process that safely removes harmful microorganisms and pathogens. That process could even be named after the person who invents it.
Now, I'm no expert, but I would lean towards the raw milk as the reason they got sick.
wow, lmk if they ever figure out what did it
People drinking raw milk seems like one of those self solving problems. Like people who don’t wear seatbelts.
There's consequences to outlawing public health. www.healthbeat.org/2025/11/21/i...
Thanks RFK Jr: raw milk and raccoon penis advocate and aficionado!
Hhhmmm, investigating how people got sick drinking raw milk. Maybe it's because they drank raw milk.
Have these people ever been to a farm? Cows shit EVERYWHERE. It's super fucking gross, and if you drink raw milk you are drinking milk that has some cow shit in it.
Raw milk is dangerous. Period. Pasteurization saves lives. Period. How much more “investigation” needs to happen?
If the raw milk folks were really committed to purity and healthfulness they’d eat their chicken raw, also. We can’t trust Big Heat to make our food safe just because they claim it “lowers the risk of food borne illness” or whatever science nerds say.
Here's where RFK Jr could prove handy. He could station himself in Idaho and personally sample the raw milk from each of their dairies, say once every few days. He could be the government taster for Idaho raw milk, the canary in the coal mine as it were.
10s of thousands of people just solved this mystery after the first sentence
Mind you now, the ID DOH is completely accurate in noting that this is a potential risk for any raw milk producer. THAT'S WHY THERE'S A DIRECT CORRELATION BETWEEN THE ADOPTION OF PASTEURIZATION AND AN INCREASE IN HUMAN LIFESPAN.
This post is asking a lot of questions that are answered by this post.
It's the cow poop in the milk.
I know it’s a typo but “patches” of raw milk is funnier than “batches”.
Are they trying to figure out how 60 people drank raw milk or trying to figure out why they got sick from doing that?
(hits buzzer) What is "because they drank raw milk", Ken?
Exactly what is there to investigate?
He's right tho. Does it really matter which it was? Everyone involved knows the risks and they're choosing to do it. If anything naming them will be GOOD for business. "the microbes at this farm are extra potent"
I bet these idiots don’t even know what pasteurization actually does. It doesn’t add anything to the milk.
Eventually it will dawn on people that there was a reason why milk was pasteurized. Maybe after a few deaths?
What other business would get this kind of protection from the government after willfully injury consumers?
They drank raw milk... that's it, that's the answer. lol
Why in earth are people stupid enough to drink raw milk and refuse vaccines?
If you aren't going to name a farm with a contaminated product so that they can be avoided because the whole category is too dangerous, just ban the product
One word: Campylobacter If you've had that bacteria in your system, it's pasteurization forevermore. The bacteria after which the term "both ends at once" was coined
...they're working with the sellers of poop milk to find the problem???
Normally when a food producer is responsible for a mass outbreak their product is recalled, they're named in case anyone may still have contaminated food, and they can't sell more until the problem is fixed.
they got sick from drinking raw milk, investigation over.
They don't know how they got sick from drinking raw milk? It's pretty obvious, they drank raw milk!!! How can the US grow so damn many completely ignore humans?
Is it demons?...I'm guessing it's demons
If it was only adults drinking it I'd say let them poison themselves, but I'm sure they're giving it to their kids
Why waste the resources? This is like investigating why it gets dark at night
“nearly 60 people got sick after drinking raw milk in the past two weeks”
They’re investigating HOW? I think the how is the easier part of this.
They got sick from drinking raw milk. What's to investigate? MAGAs are stupid.
Louis Pasteur says hi. From 1864
Maybe these raw milk producers should try pasteurizing their product? I think they'd find the effects of it pretty interesting.
Gee, how do people get sick after drinking milk with shit in it?
I think I know how
OH FFS! I just can’t fucking EVEN!!! Pasteurize the fucking milk, you fucking eejits.
Who knew drinking raw milk could cause problems…. www.health.ny.gov/diseases/com...
It’s a mystery how they got sick after drinking raw milk
If only there were some way to keep this from happening
i think it was the part where they drank raw milk
I don’t get it How did this happen? 🤔
I can't decide between raging inferno and "technically a good point."
Probably got sick from all the woke.
Raw milk can become contaminated with harmful bacteria like Salmonella, E. coli, and Listeria because it skips the pasteurization process that would kill this bacteria. Humans have been perfectly fine drinking pasteurized milk since we made this profound scientific discovery.
Yes what could it be?
Add it to the list of reasons Idaho is trash.
A dairy is making people sick! But we must meep it a secret because it would put those dairies “at risk”? 🤦♂️🏆
People have known to boil raw milk since the stone age. What the F is wrong with these people.
Have they tried heating it up first?
one of life's little mysteries
probably all the poop in the milk.
Idaho health officials are looking dumb as fuck right now.
Citizens have a right to know which dairy poisoned those people
Bit of a concern when your health department is prioritising covering up for a transgressor rather than safeguarding public health
Always drink milk from the right side, not the udder side.
It does lighten my heart a little to see the responses to this .. makes me believe there ARE some sane Americans still out there Come on guys , get rid
They are willfully stupid, that’s how they got sick.
We won't say whose responsible for the poison because that would be * bad for these sleazebag businessmen*
Louis Pasteur looking down from the Great Test Lab in the Sky just seething with rage...
That guy, what was his name? Sounds like pasture... pest chore... PASTUER! Didn't he do a thing that we named after him, what's it called pasture... past you're- PASTEURIZATION! You boil milk so it's not raw and then it kills the bad stuff? Do people getting sick from raw milk connect at all?
How? From drinking raw milk
There is no mystery here. What are health officials investigating?
Idahoians, I know this is new information, but cow poo might get you sick if you ingest it.
My guess is they got sick from drinking raw milk and also being incredibly dumb.
So they think it's their job to not tell us where it came from because it might hurt the dairies? Obviously that trumps people's health.🙄
"this is a potential risk for any raw milk producer" I assume they mean... cows?
"Mrs. Smith, your son is sick from drinking raw milk." "I want a second opinion." "OK. You're a moron for feeding him raw milk."
Threats to public health will not be doxxed.
Let me help you save some money with your investigation, Idaho. As an Idahoan who has born & raised on a cow farm. IF COW MILK IS RAW, IT LIKELY HAS COW 💩 IN IT. COW 💩 MAKES YOU SICK WHEN YOU INGEST IT. Hope this helps. #idpol
Core memory unlocked: Grandpa laughing his ass off when I told him about raw milk legislation. 😂 “Shit milk?! Ignorant sons a bitches.”
What, exactly, is Idaho unclear about, I wonder
Yep. Having been on a working dairy farm - can confirm. Cows poop and they don't really give much thought as to where they do it. Which means it kinda gets everywhere and that's why you wear boots and why those boots NEVER GO IN THE HOUSE.
AND if you shop at a grocery store that sells raw milk, and a cow 💩 contaminated container of raw milk leaks or breaks, that pathogen contaminates everything it comes in contact with, whether you buy raw milk or not 🤬
