President Donald Trump accepted Knicks owner James Dolan's invitation and will attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden in New York, the NBA said. Trump said he will be there to root for his hometown New York Knicks, and the league says his appearance would make him the first sitting president to attend an NBA Finals game. Game 1 of the series featured a huge performance from Karl-Anthony Towns, WHO cited his late mother as inspiration. His attendance matters because a presidential presence at Madison Square Garden will bring heightened security, media attention, and national focus to the Knicks' home game.
