Gundam Rogue Orbit announced, due 2027
Bandai Namco announced Gundam Rogue Orbit at Summer Game Fest 2026, revealing a 2027 release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Bandai Namco Studios described the title as a high-mobility action game and the announcement trailer teases an original story centered on a named pilot plus a Haro variant. This matters because it is a fresh, character-action style Gundam entry that aims to refresh the franchise’s mech combat for current-generation consoles and PC.
So the new Gundam Discourse (tm) now is "Rogue Orbit isn't Gundam enough." All I will say is that Gundam is malleable. Gundam survives when it changes itself. Gundam can be whatever Gundam can be, as long as it's good.
this isn't even like mainline series Gundam one of which had a horse pilot a Gundam and another had the Goo Goo Baby Brain Blender Machine while death machines rode absurdly giant wheels
I think a little more color would help the design imo. Cause as is it keeps reminiding me of those SNAA kits
I don't think it seems very Gundam-y but nonetheless I am constantly craving mecha action games
'The Tao of Gundam' by Lew
look I just want EXVS 2 ported to PC/consoles
honestly hoping they use all the weird alien stuff to get bizarre and metaphysical again it's been a tick since we last got weird and spiritual with it
New gundam game announced and... I feel like an old grogrand, cause it makes me go "that aint gundam" The designs don't really do it for me, but that aside the animation really doesn't feel gundam. it feels generic action movie. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-J0_...
The main MS design doesn't do it for me, but that aside its the animation that really doesn't land. There are a bunch of very generic action movie shots that we've seen before (getting knocked back, jumping in with sword raised etc) that just don't feel like gundam at all.
It looks like a Netflix live action remake.
I think the only thing I recognised as Gundam was the little forehead spikes. I initially thought it was Zoids or something with all the four-legged designs
Gang, I think I hate how the Gundam looks in this new game. You can’t even tell it’s a Gundam at first glance, they made the V-fin so small 😭 It’s giving videogame movie adaptation that’s embarrassed of the source material. “No, we’re totally cool and serious, look how many greebles there are!”
Obvs I want it to be good and to succeed (because lord knows we’re starved for good Gundam games, and we don’t know much about this one yet), but it just feels so… generic. Like someone was making a mecha game and Bandai just slapped the Gundam license on it.
Also it’s so bland that it’s actively blending in with the background. Give it the red feet it deserves! Whack some blue on that torso!
