To be charitable to Idris Elba I get that people will be reflexively hostile to a black James Bond because they use James Bonds brand of masculinity as a security blanket. However Daniel Craig has been Bond for 20 years now and the version they want is long gone.

I don't accept this, I think any actor taking on the role now needs to have credibility, the sort of credibility Idris Elba has in spades (although at 53 he is almost certainly too old to start playing the role now).
