Last-minute court filings aim to block Trump's White House UFC event
Plaintiffs filed last-minute federal court papers seeking to block an Ultimate Fighting Championship birthday celebration planned on White House grounds for Donald Trump, and judges are scheduled to consider the case before the event. Organizers plan to stage a UFC production on White House grounds and parts of the National Mall, including filming inside and temporary closure of the Lincoln Memorial. Plaintiffs allege the celebration includes commercial fundraising, with commemorative coins and medallions priced from $260 to over $11,000, a $1 million-per-person fundraiser the night before, and the UFC covering roughly $60 million in production costs.
