Investigation finds 'Progressive Champions PAC' is a GOP front

politicsJun 13, 202635508

Progressive Champions PAC, a super PAC created last month, says on its website its mission is to "elect bold, progressive candidates up and down the ballot." Popular Information reports the PAC is tied to the House GOP super PAC Congressional Leadership Fund and lists Bryant Bank in Alabama as its bank of record. The PAC booked nearly $400,000 in TV ads attacking Cait Conley, a Democratic candidate in New York's 17th District. This matters because groups posing as progressive organizations can shift Democratic primary outcomes by funneling GOP-aligned money and advertising into targeted races.

🧵 Fascinating article. It confirms what a lot of us have been saying for years...especially Black Women. There’s “progressive” PACs that are republican plants. So once again…if it looks like a republican & talks like a republican, it’s probably a republican. popular.info/p/progressiv...

What’s super interesting to me is these “progressives” have been putting money into Maine and Texas. They seem to be backing the candidate with the most controversial history in the hopes of making them more beatable in November. Once again…we tried to tell folks but🤷🏾‍♀️

Folks gotta stop chasing the laser pointer and remain focused on the tasks at hand. Conservatives are doing everything they can to cement themselves in permanent control. Confirmation bias is fucking white people up left and right.

Yes you have and my fellow skinfolk do NOT listen.

Ever since Nader, “progressive” is a big red flag for me. (He was taking $ from Republicans too, btw)

This has been happening in Louisiana for 50 years. Republicans flood the zone with kooks, people with very similar names to front runners, etc several times the winner of the Dem primary drop out and the Republican wins.

The way they fall for the bright shiny object candidate everytime needs to be studied. I will die on this hill .. The reason why the left and the right despise Black people is because we simply don't fall for the bright shiny object: Neither cause Not candidate They resent us for it😒😒

Yes, you see them on here and other platforms constantly stoking discord. They stir up racism and sexism, claim that both parties are the same, and brand Democrats as supporters of genocide. They try to convince people not to vote or to vote for a third party in order to stand by their "principles."

Sara B11

This is why I only donate directly to candidates.

Faux progressives sow discord by splitting coalitions. They amplify disagreements among moderates, liberals, and actual progressives, making internal divisions appear larger and more hostile than they are. As an example, they said Harris was "complicit in terrorism" and an agent of "imperialism".

This is why in general it's always best to donate directly to candidates or the party (DNC, DCCC, etc...). PACs are lousy and the exceptions doing good work are few and far between.

Honor your oath of office or resign.5

They do this all the time. Be careful to whom you give your money.

Pretty smart to target the dumbest voting block, the overwhelmingly white, young, racist, ignorant left.

YES!!! Ok I’m feeling less insane right now.

“Thee Well Read Bonnet” 🖕🏽🤷🏽‍♀️3

People are also letting the DSA slide with their chastising of and refusal to support any Black person on the ground or in govt and how they try and silence ppl who critique them, esp Bernie, AOC and you guessed it, Mamdani.
