Star Trek Online releases new episode

Star Trek Online released a new episode update that adds an in-game refit sequence allowing players to reconfigure starships. After completing the refit sequence, players reported that some refitted ships spawn with broken systems and visual or flight glitches. Those issues can block mission progression and degrade fleet combat performance, making the update impactful for both solo players and competitive crews.

I remember watching that episode as a kid and being completely transfixed; Tasha is a real hero in that one!! But, will it come back to bite our hero's??? Only time will tell

It's the inflection point. TNG had muddled along for 2.5 years - occasionally ok to good, but very rarely great. (Admittedly "Measure of a Man" is in there.) "Yesterday's Enterprise" is a great episode. The whole series improved after this one.

According to STAR TREK co-writer Roberto Orci, an early version of the film was set entirely at Starfleet Academy, inspired by TNG's "The First Duty": "We developed one story, which was the Academy days, and you see a little bit of that in STAR TREK ’09. We developed a version of it which was just the Academy, very much inspired by one of THE NEXT GENERATION episodes where Wesley is in the Academy and he goes through that whole tribunal where his ship was part of a disaster. That story inspired us to develop a complete 'Academy Days' story. But then as we got further into it and started to realize they were going to hand us the keys to the kingdom and the idea that we could get to Leonard Nimoy, that made us expand our scope."

My library unexpectedly acquired licenses for thousands of comics and graphic novels yesterday. So on a lark, I read some of the recent Star Trek comics. Nothing really did it for me, but I did really appreciate this page in which Shaxs, from Lower Decks, delivers a beatdown.

This is from Shaxs's Best (and Worst) Day by Ryan North and Derek Charm, which is basically two out of context Shaxs-focused issues. I don't think you could work out the larger story from those two issues, but the conceit of "what if Shaxs was Squirrel Girl" shines through pretty well.
