New York Knicks win 2026 NBA Championship, beat Spurs 94-90
I’ve never followed sports but boy this Brooklyn, New York girl had to watch this game and what a joy to see the Knicks win the NBA finals!!! WOW!! Happy Days are here again.
Barbara, please spread the word. Bluesky is the official app of sports. Everyone is saying so.
Yes they are! And just in time for Obama Appreciation Day!
Yes!!!! This NY Bronx girl is happy too!!! Have a beautiful day Barbra!! 🌸☀️🌸
NYC loves you back! 🗽❤️
What a great title for a song!🎵 😉
NYC deserved the win. Its been through so much and Mostly because of evil Republicans.
The only thing that brought me as much joy as the Knicks win this month was watching your New Years Eve 1999 concert at the MGM Grand on PBS. A Brooklyn boy (not Erasmus - Midwood HS, but close) was thrilled no end by both.
I hope when people see these images and the joy, they also see how beautiful a city of immigrants, past, present and hopefully future, looks like. I am so F*****g proud to be a New Yorker!!!
It's just nice to see so many people happy about anything! Now if the Bills could win the Superbowl, .....😄😁👍
And KUDOS for being a part of the Town Hall event tonight!!!
I heard that in your sing voice. Such a joy.
It was a wonderful game
They made us all feel proud of the city.
I saw the Main Event and always thought you were a boxing fan. If I'm really replying back to Barbra Streisand then that is a huge WOW for me.
It seems the sage was effective. I will be bringing a nice bundle to the next no kings march! Congrats to NYC! The city is having a lot of winning moments lately!
What an incredible win for the Knicks! Congratulations! They played so great and watching the unity their win has brought to New York is powerful! You deserve this happiness, New York and we are all sharing it with you!
Congratulations, but “Happy Days are here again”? Not quite. Orange Pinocchio is still in office
A new Streisand effect! ;)
Believe you recorded a rendition of “Happy Days” (are here again) earlier in your wonderful and awesome career !
once a NY'r always a NY'r. People always spell my name like yours. lol For 59 years I've let it slide lol. One famous Barbra makes all Barbara's Barbra! ✌🏻
My mom had a crush on your brother when you all lived on Pulaski Street. He was in her class.
It's a start but happy days will be here again when we have a certain headstone to piss on.
Wasn't that something? My Mom is from Niagara Falls and this is the first set of games that held her interest.
This is as close as I’ll ever get to you to thank you for your music. My dad died in 2023, and I now feel him near every time I hear your first albums. He introduced them to me as a child, and I love them fiercely. My children fell asleep to “A Sleepin’ Bee.” Thank you, Barbra.
Much like the New York Knicks, whether you’re a fan of Iran or not you have to respect the hustle. They just wanted it more.
im honestly impressed with their style and class, they sometimes even inform their targets to evacuate before they bomb them, and they havent hit a school, hospital or synagogue yet. 5 stars(genuine)
Revolutionary Guard? More like revolutionarily good at guarding the rock!
i'm just glad that Trump is feeling destressed in time for his big birthday celebration
Just spent an hour scrolling videos of ecstatic New York City, my eyes filled with tears, a dopey smile on my face. And thought of this from my book Evil Geniuses, about America's racial transformation the last half century. The celebration of the Knicks was a celebration of America at 250.
Yes; not the shit trump promotes. NY represents who we truly are; who America is. It does not belong to men who equate power with doing all kinds of evil.
My family and I --all devout non-sports people -- were out there screaming along with everyone else for joy. My throat is sore from the screaming. It was amazing. And a god reminder for me that I can get incredibly gloomy about 99% of what's happening in this country. But I still have joy inside me.
Same here. I worked in Manhattan in the 80’s/early 90’s in the Flatiron building (for St Martin’s Press) and later on 7th Ave right across from MSG. Tho I never made the move to the city I still feel a fondness for it that has never abated.
Same. Same feeling. We are so very fortunate and cannot get discouraged, cannot let them wear us out.
the entire new york knicks team is sitting cageside at the white house tonight. "donald trump showed up for us. now we're showing up for him" your favorite player said
Me, angrily canceling a team that until a few days ago I was only dimly aware of and still could not name a single player.
Jalen Brunson smiling ear to ear as he presents Trump with the championship trophy, “he deserves it more than any New Yorker” the Knicks captain proudly declares
"Donald Trump is orange, like a basketball, the sport we play." said Jeremy Sobchan

Jalen Brunson: I’m Converting My Salary Into Bitcoin. “Blaze the Future!” Knick Captain Exclaims
From @theathletic.com: The New York Knicks are NBA champions for the first time since 1973 and for just the third time in team history. They stunned the San Antonio Spurs, again, with another comeback win in Game 5 of the finals. www.nytimes.com/athletic/735...
The New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs to win the 2026 NBA championship. First time since 1973. Jalen Brunson: NBA Finals MVP. He tied Michael Jordan for most points in NBA Finals road game to win a title. #news #sports #newyorkknicks #nyknicks #2026 #knicks #nbachampions #nbafinals
We have more problems than to worry about who is the NBA champion? Billionaires owning millionaires who play basketball. Working class people who buy tickets and watch them. Who can't afford food, Healthcare and a home. Think about it America.
As funny as the viral clip and meme are, we should also take a step back for a moment and think about how awesome it is that the big rallying cry of the Knicks' finals ruin has been about how wonderfully multicultural New York City is.
This is the city as I have always known it and it's such a direct counterpoint to the intentional division that is so prevalent across the media the last decade or so. Getting to see it shown like this, with people just enjoying each other's company for something positive is amazing.
It's what makes NYC the greatest city in the world.
The "Christians Dior" bit from the Knicks in 4 one was the funniest one to me because of how absurd it was. 🤣
