Behaviour Interactive announced during Dead by Daylight's 10th anniversary stream that Blumhouse is producing a Dead by Daylight film, naming Thordur Palsson (The Valhalla Murders) as director with Alexandre Aja and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick writing the screenplay and production scheduled to begin in 2027. The developer also teased new in-game content including an official Scooby-Doo chapter bringing Scooby-Doo into the Fog, an officially announced First Nations survivor, a new mall map, and upcoming sandbox modding tools. Those moves expand the franchise across media and representation: the Scooby-Doo crossover and sandbox tools broaden the game's creative scope, while the Blumhouse film and 2027 timeline signal a major mainstream push for the property.
