Harry Potter HBO series casts Peter Serafinowicz as Peeves
Variety reports that Peter Serafinowicz will play the poltergeist Peeves in HBO's upcoming Harry Potter television adaptation. Peeves is a mischievous poltergeist who appears throughout the novels but was entirely omitted from the Warner Bros film adaptations. Putting Peeves on screen and casting Serafinowicz, known for British comic roles, signals the series will restore book material and add wry, anarchic humor.
As more and more British actors sign on to be involved with Harry Potter in some form or another despite full knowledge of Rowling’s bigotry, it’s comforting to know that David Tennant is never gonna be one of them.
He is a prince among men
A bring star in an otherwise extremely depressing sky. At this point, I’m sorry, I basically assume any British person is a transphobe unless they very clearly say otherwise.
Between the dramatic audiobook recordings on Audible and the HBO Max series, it is quite disconcerting to see so many British actors sign onto this IP knowing Rowling’s rancid beliefs.
I have successfully repressed the knowledge of the reboot & will again after I say: all adult actors associated with this project are aware of the creator’s transphobia and are moving forward regardless, making them figures without empathy & thus undeserving of my support. David T can stay. 🫡
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone gets some wry energy thanks to Peter Serafinowicz
Too bad JK Rowling hates transgender people and actively uses her money to push for social and economic policies that end up causing suicides and murder of trans people. But yeah, wry energy. Okay.
hey what the fuck polygon
Writing a positive article that supports a truly horrible, harmful human (JKR will benefit from your article) is ... not a great look.
It is unacceptable and unconscionable that you continue to platform this IP and its creator.
how much blood money are they paying you for this
Screw ‘m for paying transphobic hate campaigns. Fuck JKR. And fuck Harry Potter.
We don’t need to hear about this actually
The philosopher's brick more like, aim directly at a transphobe.
No one is forcing you to cover this.
We can't think of better content to write than promotional material for terfslop?
