techJun 16, 20261538

At the Augmented World Expo Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon Reality Elite XR chipset, announcing roughly 30% CPU, 60% GPU and 160% NPU performance gains plus efficiency improvements that could extend battery life about 20%. Qualcomm built the chip for mixed reality headsets and both passthrough and see-through AR glasses, targeting higher-resolution displays and on-device AI workloads. The Snapdragon Reality Elite will debut this fall as the compute puck inside Xreal's Aura Android XR device, a move aimed at bringing more powerful, battery-efficient generative AI and smoother graphics to consumer smart glasses.
