Mbappé brace lifts France to 3-1 win over Senegal, becomes France’s leading scorer
Kylian Mbappé scored twice as France beat Senegal 3-1 in their 2026 World Cup opener in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Mbappé’s brace took his France career total to 58 goals, passing Olivier Giroud to become the national team’s all-time top scorer. At 27, Mbappé’s new record cements his place among France’s greatest scorers and strengthens France’s title chances in the tournament.
