Widows Bay season finale drops early on Apple TV+
Once again, I let a mystery box show suck me in, and once again the finale pissed me off. Getting renewed for another season is the worst thing that can happen to these shows. Yes, I mean #WidowsBay
The antidote is on Criterion next month. You're welcome!
I was fine with it, but you have higher standards than me. Granted, that's a pretty low bar.
Oh my god. That was the finale? I didn’t even realize that was the end. Lmao. Yeah I won’t be back for season 2.
You want to achieve peak rage at a mystery box show? Watch From.
What was your favorite moment from widows bay s1? Mine was the priest walking out of the fields and saying “there’s danger everywhere” very gravely before just.. slowly continuing his walk
Probably when Tom is talking about the sea hag and says she was an elderly woman and Patricia goes “oh was she 40?”
Definitely the montage of patricia chaperoning the corpse to a crematorium with a shotgun to its head in each scene
Or the captains suite when the guy finds black mold and they’re all like “oh, maybe it was just the black mold?” And it very clearly wasn’t
Only being seven episodes in, I still chuckle at Matthew Rhys watching the lighthouse keeper slowly make his way to the beach. He nailed the increased sense of exasperation when the guy had to walk back and took his bike with him.
The older man giving his spooky speech about the storm and what's about to happen and they just slowly close the door on him mid sentence lol
The scene on the boat when Tom tells Warren he is not going to let him out. I’ve rewatched the exchange a couple of times. There are just so many scenes that are so great it is hard to choose, and they added a couple more last night.
Episode 1: “Except for the teeth“ is the moment I knew I was in. Patricia running, Patricia w/shotgun, Patricia asking if Warren is mad at something she said, Patricia tasing her H.S. bully. Patricia, Patricia, Patricia.
Patricia tasing her high school bully ranks pretty high, but i did love Rosemary casually like "oh that's why" when the creepy message starts playing over the PA in the bunker
"dead baby, dead baby, lezzzzbiaaaan" Dale Dickey is amazing.
also shoutout to the scenes with garrett — from walking back his bike to the lighthouse to waving at tom from inside the town hall.
