Tarps still cover Kennedy Center facade amid name-change maintenance

Scaffolding and tarps still cover a section of the Kennedy Center's west façade a week after crews removed Donald Trump's name, spokeswoman Roma Daravi said June 19. Daravi said the coverings will remain while "crews address maintenance needs of the marble and soffit panels," work that began after a federal judge ordered the name removed on May 29 and crews took the letters down on June 13. The tarps obscure the exact spot where the letters stood, leaving unresolved questions about how the Kennedy Center will finish or display that portion of the façade after the court-ordered change.
