Sonic the Hedgehog turns 35, and SEGA of America is hosting a special livestream celebration on June 23. Creators are marking the anniversary with new illustrations, short comics, animatics, cosplay, speedrun and playthrough streams, and curated merch roundups. Most pieces spotlight Tails, Super Sonic transformations, and Sonic Adventure-era nostalgia, ranging from chibi comics and quick animatics to fully rendered key art and cosplay tributes.

Sonic and Eggman in their classic forms for Sonic's 35th anniversary. While the Crush 40 version of Sonic Boom was the one I had on my iPod, (yes iPod, not pad) the ending version of the song is my favorite. I like the added lyrics and the guitar part at the end a lot.

Of course the post's text are the song's lyrics. I feel that opening line is so powerful because it poses an idea that may seem ridiculous until you realize you have the components to make it possible. Just as Sonic has his speed as a unique power, each of us have our own way to reach the other side of the rainbow. "Cuz there is no circumstance that you can't handle, when you use your mind."

Live long, Sonic. Oh, and Eggman too I guess. People often forget that both of them share this day. He's just as important in my eyes.
