Sonic the Hedgehog turns 35, SEGA plans livestream

Thirty-five years to the day after Sonic debuted on the Sega Genesis on June 23, 1991, SEGA marked the milestone with an anniversary livestream that doubled as a St. Jude charity fundraiser and carried real news: a Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition, new Sonic Racing CrossWorlds content, and the reveal of Sonic Pico Park. The community made the day its own, with birthday tributes spanning every era, from Green Hill and the Adventure years to Sonic Rush, and Tails and Super Sonic each getting a spotlight. One fan artist even saw their work picked up officially by SEGA. The mood ran from heartfelt nostalgia to pure jokes, including birthday wishes for Motobug, the Green Hill badnik that turned 35 right alongside him.
