Live‑action Magic School Bus film in development, Elizabeth Banks to star

A live-action ‘Magic School Bus’ movie is officially in the works, Variety reports. Elizabeth Banks is set to star as Ms. Frizzle, with Rob Letterman attached to direct.

A live-action film of ‘The Magic School Bus’ officially in the works at Legendary Entertainment. Rob Letterman (‘Shark Tale’, ‘Detective Pikachu’) is set to direct and write for the film with Elizabeth Banks starring as Ms. Frizzle.

Okay, but like, if we HAD to have a live action Magic School Bus movies…just saying: This was such a squandered opportunity not to see redhead icons like Reba, Mindy Sterling, Swoosie Kurtz or Alyson Hannigan as Ms Frizzle.

Okay, good to know this project isn't dead. Also, I would've said "Goosebumps" instead of "Shark Tale", but Rob Letterman is the best director I can think of for an adaptation of The Magic School Bus. And Elizabeth Banks was not my first call for Ms. Frizzle, but I can see how she can pull it off.

They should have used this theme for Gridlock. The special episode-exclusive title sequence would have been the TARDIS stuck in time vortex traffic between the DeLorean and the Magic School Bus

The whole charm of the Magic School Bus was it’s 2-D elements. How are you going to replicate that in live action? Especially the bus, I can’t imagine the bus not looking creepy.

Hollywood is no longer in the mood to take chances, make mistakes, and get messy, so it’s somewhat surprising we’re getting a live-action adaptation of “The Magic School Bus”:

Imagine they try and make in live-action the episode of the Magic School Bus where they went inside Arnold??? You know how traumatic that would be?!

I always thought The Magic School Bus was dangerous. What kind of insurance/teachers union/permission slips did that school have? I am signing this waver stating TMSB has no responsibility for the possibility of being baked into a pie on field trips.
