Slate Auto reveals $24,950 electric pickup, preorder page live

techJun 24, 202616622

Slate Auto, backed by Jeff Bezos, opened preorders for a two-seat electric pickup starting at $24,950, with the company listing an estimated 205-mile range and a $300 deposit to hold orders. The base truck is intentionally bare-bones, crank windows and optional speakers, and Slate says buyers can convert the bed to a five-passenger interior for roughly $5,000. Slate also lists a purpose-built SUV variant starting at $29,950. This matters because a sub-$25,000 EV pickup with a claimed 205-mile range undercuts most current electric trucks and could broaden affordable EV ownership if Slate meets production and range targets.

www.cnbc.com/2026/06/24/s... Slate’s flagship product is a two-seat, $24,950 bare-bones electric pickup truck that’s so basic the speakers are optional and it has crank windows. The truck can be converted into a five-passenger sport utility vehicle for an additional $5,000.
