Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day celebrated across Canada

On this day in 1880, O Canada was performed for the first time. It was composed by Calixa Lavallée for the Saint-Jean Baptiste Day ceremony. Later, French-language words were added by Sir Adolphe Basile Routhier. It became Canada's official national anthem in 1980. 📸 LAC
