John Bolton pleads guilty to mishandling classified information
Former Trump national security adviser John Bolton pleaded guilty on Friday to keeping security information from his work in his personal records—an act less egregious than what Donald Trump and Joe Biden previously got away with unscathed.
i get it, there is a character limit on posts, but did you **REALLY** mean to imply that there is some equivalence between Biden keeping (and returning) some docs, and what Trump did?!!?!? ‘cuz that’s what you did
Was John Bolton the guy who told his story through a book deal instead of a deposition?
What double standard? The threshold for an appointee is much lower than for a president. And yes, I’m absolutely drawing the line in the vast gulf between Biden (investigated, cleared; admonished?) and President Stupid (immunized by a corrupt Court).
I could not give less of a fuck what happens to this man, tbh. He's one of the reasons COVID got out of control and is still killing people around the world today.
And yet Trump stole classified files.
Not a fan of Mr Bolton, but this is not equal justice, only uninhibited punitive vengeance.
Ex-national security advisor John Bolton appeared in court today to plead guilty to one count of mishandling national defense info. The plea deal - which the judge isn't bound to accept - includes $2.25M fine and up to 5 years in prison (Bolton could argue for none) www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
Bolton's deal includes notable elements: - up to 100 hours of what govt described as "community service" to help feds address disclosures of classified info (judge noted not typical) - forfeits govt pension - debriefs DOJ/US intel about what he did www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
Wait so this IS a crime again?
And trump walked away from the same charge
It's hard to think of a "political" criminal defendant during Trump II who has absolutely no one rooting for them or trying to defend their conduct ... except Bolton.
He lost a lot, lost his dream war on Iran and going to jail by helping President crooked business. Lol
I don't consider myself a vengeful human, but mid-1980s me is giving mid-2020s me a great big high five rn.
extremely hilarious that this chud had an opportunity to push the Senate toward conviction in one of Trump's impeachment trials and he chose not to how's that working out for ya bonehead
Former U.S. national security adviser John Bolton pleaded guilty on Friday to a single count of illegally retaining classified information. The former Trump administration official-turned-Trump critic appeared at a federal court in Maryland and said he was “sorry” for his actions.
Bolton faced 18 counts related to his handling of classified information, including accusations that he shared notes with family members while writing a memoir. Outside the courthouse, prosecutors said Bolton “put our national security at grave risk.”
And yet Trump stole classified files.
Trump steals boxes of classified documents and sells them to foreigners - no consequences. Bolton takes a few pages home - instant fine and potential jail time.
Okay, that's one first term Trump Republican down. Pay attention Pete Hegseth. Nobody has forgotten "Signal-Gate"!
Unbelievable irony and hypocrisy from this Regime
Bolton should've gone to The Hague for a war crimes trial, but I'll take it.
