Reform UK makes disruptive debut as Senedd opposition, prompting walkouts

Newly seated Reform UK MSs made a disruptive debut as the Senedd opposition on their first opposition day, prompting tears, walkouts and procedural clashes. Reform holds more than a third of Welsh parliament seats after the May election, rising from zero to roughly 30 percent of seats. During the session Reform members provoked disputes serious enough that other MSs left the chamber and some votes saw Reform MSs voting against their own party. The confrontations included contested procedure and heated exchanges that interrupted normal business and raised immediate questions about how the Senedd will manage opposition scrutiny going forward.
