Toy Story 5 nears $585M, outpaces Supergirl at box office

Took the youngest kid to their first movie theater today. Saw Toy Story 5 at the Riverview. That place kicks so much ass. $5 tickets, cheap concessions, house full of other families with young kids.

If female superhero leads are important to you, you might consider buying a ticket even if you have to suffer. It kind of sounds like Hollywood is thinking female superheros don't drive movie sales, and that's a problem.

In a setback for Warner Bros.′ revamped DC movie operations, "Supergirl" was absolutely no match for "Toy Story 5" at the box office, opening a distant second to the Pixar blockbuster.

i will not watch a movie unless one character blasts rope at another. anyways i watched toy story 5 today.

I just got back from watching Toy Story 5. The artists at Pixar once again made me cry with a simple and heartfelt story with a nuanced approach to the conflict with toys and tech. I felt for every single character in this. Andrew Stanton and Kenna Harris somehow managed to surpass my expectations.

Toy Story 5 is the best Bonnie has ever been written. I'd argue the best any kid in Toy Story has been written.

Much to my amazement, I thoroughly enjoyed TOY STORY 5 from start to finish. Probably my favorite one since the first. There was no let up in the story and the mixture of heart and humor with some spectacular animation made it very satisfying. 1/x

Personally I would have waited a week or 2 to put Supergirl in a much more comfortable spot to debut because should should never put any movie against a Disney movie especially if it's a movie like Toy Story... But I don't make those decisions.

i still think the first two are the best ones and that 3 was the most like. conclusive toy story but 4 was still like. good, even if i liked it less. pleasantly surprised with what i've heard about 5 so...

Just got out of Toy Story 5. The movie was absolutely Fantastic! Big improvement from 4. They especially did Jessie justice with this movie, I cried so hard 😭😭😭

You know I was having trouble remembering why this was on my mind & I think a friend mentioned this movie & that’s probably where I started thinking about this! So I guess I was thinking about this because of Toy Story. Which is like, a whole other cultural thing I haven’t kept up with.
