North Carolina Governor Josh Stein publicly condemned the display. The removal followed public complaints and prompted at least one reported vendor to withdraw from the event over the flag.

I like to think that a significant number of American's would be far too embarrassed to attend this badly thought out carnival show. That and the fact this economy is literally crushing everyone, who has the money to go to this? Better deals and food and actual fun at a Renaissance festival.

This spectacle on the National Mall in Washington, DC, part of Trump's Trump-centric celebration of America's 250th anniversary, is like watching your high school bully host a party that no one attends. It's a daily humiliation for a wildly unpopular president who co-opted what should be a unifying national celebration and turned it into repellent schlock.
