Turner Classic Movies is hosting a watch party tonight that pairs the 1944 animated short Swooner Crooner with the 1942 film Now, Voyager. Swooner Crooner, directed by Frank Tashlin and voiced by Mel Blanc, Bea Benaderet, and Sara Berner, runs seven minutes and follows Porky Pig managing an egg farm where the chickens are distracted by a crooning rooster. Now, Voyager, directed by Irving Rapper and starring Bette Davis, Paul Henreid, and Claude Rains, is scheduled at 11:45 PM ET and runs 1 hour 57 minutes; its plot centers on a repressed spinster transformed by psychiatry and a love for a married man. TCM lists the primetime block as WB Songs in Looney Tunes, with Swooner Crooner slotted at 8:30 PM PT and Now, Voyager in late primetime.
