Masked Patriot Front march through Washington, Confederate flags displayed

newsJul 4, 2026422,363

On July 4, during America’s 250th anniversary, several hundred masked members of the white nationalist group Patriot Front marched from Union Station across Capitol Hill and toward the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Marchers carried Confederate flags and chanted anti-immigrant slogans, and many wore white masks or gaiters to conceal their identities. Reports and photos, including imagery credited to Reuters photographer Cheney Orr, show the group in khaki trousers and coordinated face coverings. Local officials issued a statement condemning the group, identifying them as white supremacists and urging neighbors to protect vulnerable people. Some accounts put the turnout at roughly 400, while one local report described a smaller contingent of about 100; witnesses say the march lasted only a short time before dispersing. News outlets including NBC Washington and Raw Story covered the event and published on-the-ground reporting and reaction.

BREAKING: Hundreds of masked men in Confederate flags marching through the nation's capital on its 250th birthday, and the White House response is... crickets. Almost like silence is the statement. Happy Independence Day, apparently some Americans get an asterisk
