Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce marry at Madison Square Garden, guests share details
Paul McCartney played "I Want To Hold Your Hand" at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding. It was the first time a Beatle performed the song since 1964.
They are friends and he sang as a surprise.
I think that's really sweet and we can use some sweet things can't we? We've been forced to bite on sour for about 10 years
Quite an honor for the newly weds, and a great gift by Paul.
Did Taylor Swift's guest who's an owner of an ICE facility enjoy it?
What a treat for the billionaires!
Oh man the price tag on that I’m sure was astronomical
Billionaires acquiring another asset denied to everyday working people
You’re paying Macca 2 million bucks to play and he pulls the most fucking play while grandmas still awake-ass wedding DJ song
Every one of these stories bums me out so I have to remind myself that a bunch of my union siblings got paid to work this gig and 4% of their earnings went to our benefits
this is like shkreli buying the one-off wu tang album to sit on it like smaug except nobody cares
"Taylor Swift once penned 'it's a love story, baby, just say 'Yes.' And now, her art has become reality. I will always remember where I was when Taylor Swift -- unlike any artist before or after her -- pioneered the concept of writing about love and romance in a song
i guess money *can* buy you love
cool. all of them, against the wall
Impressive how mid her taste is
I've said it before and I'll say it again: there are no good billionaires.
GWAR played BDF at my wedding, but I guess Taylor’s thing is cool too
Donna Kelce described Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce’s wedding in one word: "Magical!"
And that’s how the world found the use of the word magical hadn’t been covered by the NDAs.
Glad to see that Travis got the Magical Fairy Tale Wedding he wanted since he was a little Boy.
Pretty sure the whole public charity donations and jumbo Madison Square Garden fest let the cat out of the bag. As much as I wish the happy couple well, celebrities pretending they *want* privacy when they're the only folks who can afford real privacy, is annoying af.
They are a class act.
That's... whatever... but the apparel looks pure MAGA. When asked what she thought of Swift when they first got together, her response was, "Meh..."
How do we know if this is real?
getting married to Taylor Swift in MSG by Adam Sandler is something a 14-year-old Make A Wish kid would want
A 14-year-old Make A Wish kid from 1995 perhaps
Hopefully a squirle was straight smashing a piece of bread on the daïs.
TBF you did just describe Travis Kelce perfectly so
Well, I mean they’ve been millionaires since they were like 17 years old probably so you know everyone’s 12
The 14 year old would have better taste than to want Adam Sandler involved
Two entirely unrelated burning questions I'm contemplating: Does Messi SEE what's going on so well bc he watches film, or bc he's so experienced he can just see immediately? Will Taylor Swift's music get shitty now that she's happily married?
On Messi, I have no clue. But my guess is Taylor's music won't get shitty, but it may change. I expect it to deepen and mature as she does. She may write songs that will appeal more to adults and less to teenagers. But that kind of talent doesn't go away just because an artist is happily married.
Re Messi: I’m sure he watches film, and he is obviously experienced, but this gift has been evident since he was young. I think it’s an almost innate understanding of the game and spatial intelligence.
Messi is married and he sees things anyway.
Re: Taylor, who knows? Re: Messi, I've always thought the very best athletes are not just physically gifted but mentally too. Their brains process information faster than their opponents. So, yeah, talent, training, discipline, hard work, all that. But also genius-level processing capacity.
Messi‘s spatial sense is innate. He was born with it. He just has an incredible ability to see where everybody is at all times and anticipate their movement. He sees passes others don’t, but also the skill to complete them.
the only person i think of with this comparable almost-paranormal talent is magic johnson at the height of his skill, early-mid 80s
as someone who is agnostic re Taylor Swift, it really feels like this wedding is a turning point in her public perception, at least among Bluesky People
honestly just puzzled by 'my wedding venue is MSG' because even tricked out every way you can imagine, it is still MSG. Go rent a real castle
eh, I feel like bluesky has always been pretty cool on her, it's (mostly) not her demographic music-wise and the billionaire thing has always rankled people it's definitely playing into existing perception but it's more of a continuation than a turning point imo
I can report that on Threads where many more normies hang out that the overall mood is sour on this recent spectacle of hers
As someone who really appreciates her toxic music about her toxic relationships I'm holding out for the divorce album because it is going to be PEAK
i can't find it but there was a youtube video that talked about how celebrities no longer try to be relatable and instead try to signal their wealth and status by being unrelatable and "closing down MSG so you can have a private wedding that no one can legally talk about" is the apotheosis of that
This is a key inflection point in her public perception. She is really no longer pretending to be “just like you,” and the over the top gaudiness of her recent public persona only underscores that. Then again, she seems uniquely talented at scheduling her backlashes, so maybe this is that!
My thoughts on Taylor Swift are that I liked some of the country music she put out in 2008, but haven't heard any of her music since then. I do find it interesting: normally celebrities have massive fancy weddings in the Hamptons or Martha's Vineyard specifically to avoid this type of press frenzy.
Ehhh as a fan since 1989, she’s gotten worse and it can be felt. Her 2025 album was pretty cash grabby. At least the eras tour was about a big tour post covid lockdown
I really try to stay out of celebrity critique. Especially as a Taylor Swift fan. But I do think it was in poor taste to host a giant wedding at MSG at this moment in time for every possible reason. People are struggling through an historic heat wave in a new gilded age.
And the footage of a massive NYPD force closing off essential activity to New Yorkers to protect a very small number of people for a private event is beyond bad optics. It’s a symptom of the times.
Especially when you have like a dozen enormous private estates at your beck and call - who would want to get married in an arena anyway? so impersonal. idk. Richies gonna rich 🤷♂️
Exactly. Read the room ffs
Ya sure at surface level, but if you remember Jack Antonovs LBI wedding, it was absolutely insane bc of her. There’s no normal venue that would have been safe or worked for swift. MSG is safe and workable for her and surrounding area. They tried multiple RI venues but all failed
www.businessinsider.com/joseph-kahn-... i've never been a "swiftie" although i don't normally like pop music anyways.
Thank you! As a New Yorker, this felt all wrong to me. This weekend of all weekends. I wish I understood their reasoning. Great that they made the donations they did. I volunteered with New York Cares for years and was happy to see they donated to them.
I’ve been so conflicted over listening to any Radiohead after they showed their Zionist asses (haven’t listened to them in a year and a half now) so it’s wild logging onto social media to find people defending Taylor Swift for inviting the owner of ICE Detention Centers to her wedding
Many popular artists have moral or political failings and none of it should be elided but given things the of support Swift, defending her online and continuing to give her money carries a political weight (derogatory).
Swifties are a cult. There is nothing she could do that would turn them off, nothing that they wouldn’t defend aggressively. All for some mediocre music! It’s insane.
Also, some of their guests were business associates with little connection. This was like a mixture of corporate retreat and publicity stunt. That is gross on a few levels. It's definitely not romantic but adds a weirder layer to inconveniencing the city. pagesix.com/2026/07/04/e...
Did someone get to tell you who to invite to your wedding? How bizarre to complain about someone’s wedding guest list. They can invite whomever they want.
She’s gonna sell it as a movie
Again, no one has 1,000 friends. I want to know how Abby Wambach and Glennon Doyle are connected to Taylor and Travis for example.
