Cruel Jaws sparks FrightClub watch‑party interest

moviesJul 8, 202630396

Late-night FrightClub watch parties have been spotlighting Cruel Jaws (1995) as a cult 'bad shark' pick, with the program queuing the film for a Tuesday 10 PM ET showing and viewers reporting it is available on Tubi and included with Midnight Pulp. Participants called out the film's shameless borrowing from earlier Jaws rip-offs, noted a repeated helicopter joke and inappropriate credit music including a Star Wars-like theme, and repeatedly described the screening as "terrible but fun." Posters also pointed to a 2024 documentary announcement titled Twilight Jaws. Severin released a related product, the Cruel Jaws Leg Drop Sticker (3 inch by 5 inch), tying physical merch to the renewed interest. The watch-party chatter includes viewers spotting lifted footage from Jaws 2 and Jaws 3D, commenters joking about plot absurdities such as unattended children at an aquarium, and fans planning rewatches and sequels in jest.
