78th Emmy Awards nominations announced
Capt. Olivia Benson is taking on a new role on NBC, or rather the actor who plays her is. Mariska Hargitay will be hosting the 78th Emmy Awards. www.latimes.com/entertainmen...
This is the woman who wiped out the backlog of rape kits in the country. Heroine.
🇬🇧 #JohnOliver #LastWeekTonight . John Oliver has enuf Primetime Emmys he's now set his sights on the Daytime Emmy Awards . On July 2nd he appeared on #GeneralHospital for the first of 3 episodes. He has rave reviews . In August he will also do 3 episodes of Days of Our Lives .
She looks better now than she ever has. Guess that's what happens when you have 2 beautiful parents
Oh, you scamps, I see what you did there. Now that the idea is out there, Hargitay MUST present in character!
Hard to believe anyone watches shit like that.
Lol. Let's see if she can deliver good comedy written by other people! Low key rooting for her, but I fear stilted, awkward line delivery. Comedy is harder than drama.
I feel like this is a great idea.
This is crazy. I am 1000% here for it. I am 100,000% here for Mariska’s Fuck Around and Have Fun era.
She’s aging gracefully as hell
Mariska is gonna show up on stage at the #Emmys wearing her Knicks jersey with Jalen's name and number on it right over her evening gown. And she'll STILL look fine as hell, and I'll have no complaints.
Harrison Ford was just nominated for an Emmy. He’s been overlooked as an actor for way too long. He’s turning 84 on Monday. For the love of god give Harrison Ford an award
He’s fantastic in this show. My mother in law has Parkinson’s. Fuck Parkinson’s.
Yes, absolutely 💯. He's been deserving for years.
Surely the millions of dollars come as some comfort?
He’s great in Shrinking! His dry wit is fantastic.
This is only his 2nd nomination for any of the "EGOT" awards. He was nominated for an Oscar for "Witness," way back in 1986. They gave it to William Hurt, for "Kiss of the Spider Woman." Not only was he not the best actor in that movie (Raúl Juliá), he trails John as the best actor named Hurt!
I'll keep saying it: Ford's work on Shrinking feels like the culmination of everything he has ever tried to say, do and be as an actor. He's gruff, he's funny, he's dramatic, he's tender, he's thoughtful. He's poured so much of himself into the role and it shows in every frame.
He is *so* good on Shrinking Also if you havent watched Shrinking you’re seriously missing out
This would go some way to making up for the Mosquito Coast Oscar snub I'm still angry about
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
WIDOW'S BAY. 19 EMMY NOMINATIONS. Best Comedy Series. Best Lead Actor. Best Supporting Actor. Best Supporting Actress. Best Writing. Best Directing. Stream Season 1 on Apple TV now.
They're calling it the widow's bay wipe Absolutely deserved holy shit
my best friend Widow's Bay
Finally. An actual comedy in the comedy category
A true triumph for Katie Dippold and her entire team.
I really need to start watching*! *once my home isn't too hot to live in, so I'm guessing late September at this rate 😭
I hope this is a lock for Best Writing. All these nominations are deserved but that's the most deserved in my book.
Matthew Rhys gotta clean up here.
Best show of 2026 no question
As it should. Can't wait for a S2.
Ahora que por fin "The Bear" ha dejado de estar nominada en las categorías de comedia, pintan interesantes los Emmy.
On the one hand, ZERO Lowdown Emmy nominations. On the other, 15 Pluribus noms, including for Seehorn, Vesga, Wydra, Jeff Hiller, and Miriam Shor. And The Pitt got way more supporting noms, including Dearden, Dourif, and Moafi, Ball, and Hatosy (now in supporting) to go with Wyle and LaNasa.
Just skimming through the noms list for other notable things: * Nick Offerman got deserved double-noms, for Death by Lightning and Margo's Got Money Troubles * KATE O'FLYNN * Beef got tons of noms for the less-praised s2 * Posthumous Rob Reiner guest actor nod for The Bear s4
Zero for The Lowdown is malpractice by the voting body.
No Lowdown noms is a crime. I feel like voters ignore anything coming out of Oklahoma. Only thing that explains this and RezDogs
I must be the only person alive who thinks Pluribus is incredibly overrated.
Lowdown's the new Justified... 8 noms over six seasons (seven if you count City Primeval) and 2 wins, both in it's second season.
It's disappointing The Lowdown didn't get any noms
delighted to know that this may be the year the quest of Vince Gilligan and the entire Better Call Saul fandom to Give Rhea Seehorn An Emmy is finally fulfilled
My own stray Emmy voter thoughts: Fuck yes Rhea Seehorn, fuck yes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, fuck yes all the Widow's Bay noms at the last minute, fuck yes to Nick Offerman's amazing turn in Death by Lightning BUT no Low-Down noms? What? And short form is a mess, should be dominated by YouTube shows.
this is for @radiofreetom.bsky.social , possibly the only person on here who's as big a PLURIBUS fanboy as i am
“The Pitt” leads all Emmy Award nominees with 25 in a dominant sophomore season, while “Hacks” leads all comedies with 24 for its final season.
I didn't realize Pluribus was so acclaimed. If I was the protagonist, the show'd be over in one ep, cuz I'd welcome our hive mind overlords. The Pitt seems revolutionary. The way they shoot the show - the way the set is designed - it's all incredibly immersive. Must be a lot of fun for the actors.
I would never have classified “Widow’s Bay” as a comedy
Another show in my office just got a bunch of Emmy nominations and as I share a wall with one of the nominees I've decided by pure physical proximity I too am an emmy nominee
I will consider you an emmy nominee
Skelly, I just got this photo from someone who said his name was John Titor, what could it mean?
I always knew you had it in you (Emmy particles)
congrats, can't wait to see you holding the statuette
