Justin Bieber will co-headline the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final halftime show on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey alongside Madonna, Shakira and BTS. Organizers said the Super Bowl-style miniconcert will last 11 minutes and will also feature Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, Coldplay with the PS22 Chorus, plus appearances by the Muppets and Sesame Street characters. Global Citizen produced the show; the organization said one dollar from every halftime ticket sold will go to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund to support education and sport for children in underserved communities. Global Citizen co-founder and CEO Hugh Evans said signing Bieber was a team effort and that Bieber is already in New York rehearsing. FIFA president Gianni Infantino discussed the idea before Coldplay frontman Chris Martin helped curate the lineup. Bieber said in a statement that the World Cup brings the world together and he is grateful the halftime show will help expand access to education for children worldwide. Bieber and his wife Hailey attended the World Cup opening ceremony and he publicly supported Canada on social media before Canada lost to Morocco.
