Justin Bieber will co-headline the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final halftime show with Madonna, Shakira and BTS on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Organizers said the Super Bowl-style mini-concert will run 11 minutes and also feature Burna Boy, appearances by the Muppets and Sesame Street characters, Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel, and Coldplay performing with the PS22 Chorus, a Staten Island choir of fourth and fifth graders. Global Citizen produced the show after conversations involving FIFA president Gianni Infantino and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, who curated the artist lineup. Global Citizen announced that one dollar from every halftime-show ticket sold will go to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund to support education and sport for underserved children. Bieber said in a statement that he is grateful to be part of the halftime show and that it is already helping expand access to education for children around the world. Organizers are keeping the setlist under wraps, but Global Citizen told the Star that audiences can expect familiar hits and moments where artists come together; Bieber was reported to be already in New York rehearsing.
