Kyle Fletcher wins AEW International Title at Beach Break

entertainmentJul 9, 202625293

Kyle Fletcher defeated Konosuke Takeshita at AEW Dynamite Beach Break to win the AEW International Championship. Fletcher scored a clean pin after a running corner kick and a second brain buster, ending Takeshita’s 45-day reign. Takeshita wrestled the match with a lingering arm injury that hampered his offense and opened the door for Fletcher’s finish, after Takeshita had kicked out of an earlier thrust kick and first brain buster. The match was contested between two members of the Don Callis Family; Fletcher had returned from injury, turned on Takeshita, and set up this showdown. This is Fletcher’s first reign as AEW International Champion and his third different AEW title overall; his previous championship run was a second TNT Championship that ended in April. Takeshita is expected to refocus on New Japan Pro Wrestling where he holds the NJPW World Television Championship and is scheduled for this month’s G1 tournament. Fletcher’s win reshuffles the International title picture and the Don Callis Family dynamic going forward.
