Godzilla Minus Zero teaser released, film set for November 6, 2026

A second teaser and a new poster for Godzilla Minus Zero debuted as the studio confirmed the film opens in theaters and IMAX on November 6, 2026. The sequel reunites director Takashi Yamazaki with key cast members and continues the post-war Japan story that began in Godzilla Minus One. Godzilla Minus One earned widespread praise after its 2023 release and won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, and TOHO is positioning Minus Zero for a near-simultaneous rollout in Japan and North America. I do not understand people wanting like King Ghidorah to show up in Godzilla Minus Zero. Like I understand the appeal of that monster and wanting to see it in that style, but I really feel it would be entirely inconsistent with the films they’re making.

Minus Zero made such an impact because the human characters hadn't gripped the audience emotionally this much since the original film, with the exception of Miki Saegusa. And while I look forward to the next "VS." battle as much as anyone, this vein can be mined further and it deserves to be.
