Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced launched as staff at Ubisoft Barcelona began a three-day strike protesting planned layoffs of 51 employees and severance offers described as below any reasonable standard. Striking team members said the studio built all the game’s underwater levels, and one developer noted they helped write the Modern Day sections, while the game’s strong Steam launch and details like the Dark Animus Corsair Sails have become focal points for players. At the same time creators and streamers are amplifying gameplay, some praising the remake and its visuals, others calling out a persistent bug where Edward continuously runs forward during play.

I don't share a lot of my honest gaming opinions often. I think gaming is a hobby that looks different for everyone, and I don't seek conflict when I don't have to. That being said. AC Black Flag Resynced is a master class in modern story-telling and engagement and may just save Ubisoft. Period.

I spoke with a Ubisoft Barcelona employee and learned more about the strike being held at the studio. Employees are not happy with Ubisoft's proposals amidst negotiations and will hold a renewed strike on Thursday. Plus, they detailed the scope of what the studio developed in Resynced (it's a lot)
