The Batman Part II delayed to February 18, 2028; Matt Reeves shares first camera test
First teaser for ‘THE BATMAN: PART 2’. In theaters on February 18, 2028.
The fact that this isn’t out until 2028 is insane. INSANE.
Commissioner Gordon standing under the bat signal: "the fuck is taking him so long?" ⌚
Am I the only one who wasn't really fond of that movie? I mean, it was OK, but it was basically just a detective movie starring a guy in a bat costume. I wanted/expected more Batman-type stuff in it.
Which means it will be even LONGER before we get our new Batman in the DCU. Ugh.
Me and the homies at the nursing home are hyped
IM GONNA FLIP! NO MORE DELAYS!
There will be 3 new Dune movies in the time it will take The Batman to get a sequel, they’re gonna put Zaslav’s head on a pike
Matt Reeves you know I'm showing up for you no matter what but... 2028...
STOP DELAYING THIS MOVIE I NEED IT!
I NEED THIS SHIT ASAP
Tengo que bajar yo a arreglar todo, hermano. Porque si no nadie levanta esta franquicia. Porque si nadie tiene huevos acá. ¡¿Que pasa con la piba?!
There is a balm in Gilead
Looking forward to this. Not looking forward to another round of dorks yelling at the start of the calendar year ”Batman will win Best Picture and Best Actor and Best Director”! So many tired “The Batman is the Oscar frontrunner” articles and takes were made in March 2022.
Cool teaser I don’t mind if they delay it as long as it’s a good movie. I’d much rather wait for a good Batman movie then have an ok one sooner But 2 Superman movies between is a wild gap
When The Batman Part II finally comes out, Robert Pattinson, the younger, fresher take on Batman, will be almost 42, four years older than Christian Bale was as the over-the-hill Batman in DKR, and one year younger than Ben Affleck's over-the-hill Batman in BvS:DoJ. variety.com/2026/film/ne...
any 42 year old will tell you 40 is the new 30
Why is his nose on his cheek?
It was fine but hard to give a shit about properties with such sparse release schedules.
Since you're comparing ages for Batman sequels, why not go all the way and include Michael Keaton in Batman Returns?
They're going to have to kill his parents again in front of him in crime alley to explain why he's aged so quickly
I have no evidence of this, but I suspect the guy most pissed about it is probably James Gunn, who really needs Batman in his DCU, and the longer Reeves's universe drags on, the more often he has to think about when his Batman gets introduced.
This is okay, as Pattinson is what we in the biz call a Very Soft Boy. He will remain a VSB so until he’s about 50. This is also true of Tom Holland.
This reminds me of the jump from Quantum to Skyfall, making Craig's version the Bond whose spy career took place between films.
To be fair, millennial batman having to delay retirement is pretty on point
what are we doing here man, years between movies for bits of the long Halloween retold in the most ‘actually, Nolan didnt treat this stuff po-faced enough‘ manner.
And he's only been Batman for 2 years in canon
On Letterboxd, I make a “My Most Anticipated Films of the Year” list halfway through the year before, and I believe this will be the third year in a row I’ve put The Batman II at the top of the list, only to have to remove it when it gets delayed.
The good news is, by data extrapolated from her parents, Zoe Kravitz will remain stunningly beautiful for the next 40-80 years. So they have time.
Ehh… I’m good with it. The Daniel Craig James Bond was a young rookie in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, but then they just skipped ahead to Skyfall where he was too old for this shit, and everyone fucking loved that one. Rightfully so.
Quality over quantity. I’d rather wait and give them the time they need to make something they are proud of than to get something rushed and half assed.
So is Variety saying we should just send him to the bat-farm upstate to frolic with Keaton, Bale, Clooney and Affleck? (RIP Val Kilmer and Adam West)
The Batman Part II delayed to Feb 18, 2028 (previously Oct 1, 2027 & Oct 2, 2026) deadline.com/2026/07/the-...
the batman part 2 and delays
I thought the first one was fine and all, but there is no way that this movie will be worth all this.
6 years man, come on...
Wow, this delay is somehow longer than the first The Batman movie's runtime
I can’t believe they created a longer wait than Joker I and II
Six years eems inexcusable at this point
How many more times is it going to be delayed
Ya no me quedan gifs de Jorge Javier.
The first one came out in 2022! Why the fuck is it taking 6 god damn years to make a grounded crime noir film with a guy in a bat suit!?
El Dark Universe de las pelis DC.
How does a Batman movie take this long to make. He just punches guys
People said Pattinson was too young to be Batman. He's going to be too old to be Beyond Bruce Wayne when 2 finally comes out.
so i actually read the article and all that's happening is that it's switching release dates with something else. that's literally all. no indication that production has hit another snag
Nothing just works anymore huh?
Why does everything take a decade to make now?
The Batman Part 2 has been delayed to Feb 18, 2028, having previously been scheduled for October 2027. https://bit.ly/4vwMINm
um dia meus filhos vao ver esse filme e ir no asilo me contar
vai ser mais tempo entre batman 1 e 2 do que entre duna 1 e 3
I’m all for them taking their time to make the best possible sequel possible but… Damn this hurts… at least it’s just a few months as opposed to a year.
2028? That isn’t a real year
Shit just takes too long to produce now and people lose interest. The first season of Lost (arguably the last great network tv series) ended in May of 05 and season 2 (24 episdoes!) started in Sept of 05. The inefficency of it all just kills any momemtum for these movies and tv shows.
I don't mind the release of The Batman Part 2 being pushed back. We're not playing by 2018 MCU rules anymore. Ya gotta give the audience a chance to miss the image of a real-life dude in shoulder pads and a cape.
I don't think the age of superhero films is over, but I do think the age of "We're gonna pump out 3 of these a year and they'll all make a billion dollars" is done. DC, Marvel, whatever. We're not getting that back.
Honestly "shoot with a complete script and finish the movie before the release date" should be common sense - but for now at least, it should be the biggest lesson studios learn in the collapse of the Marvel machine
The first one was great because it was crafted, which few superhero films are anymore.
The one thing I wonder about is how this effects introducing Batman into the Gunn DC universe since I can’t imagine they would want multiple Batmans o with each other
the batman part ii is coming out six years after the first film but it's fine because i'm in my 30s now so time passes differently.
It will take place roughly 6 months after the first one and we will all just ignore that everyone looks much older.
who cares, there are plenty of other movies
I was actually looking up how old Christian Bake was in the Nolan trilogy the other day and getting sad thinking about how many more things Batman achieved in his 30s than I ever will
