Iceberg lettuce supplied to Taco Bell linked to cyclospora outbreak

I do think pinning this on specifically Taco Bell is weird since many confirmed cases aren’t people who ate at Taco Bell at all and we know the actual source—Taylor Farms—distributes lettuce and other produce to many, many other large food businesses

I am throwing my banner behind Taco Bell for first notifying the country that we have explosive butt parasite lettuce. Also because I'll die without Nacho Fries.

It's also going to hurt people because they'll think they're in the clear if they don't eat Taco Bell. And that's not true. It's grocery store salad also.

Linking Taco Bell to this outbreak, even with the endless, decades old, untrue, poop jokes about Taco Bell is infuriating because A) They did nothing wrong and B) they pulled things and reacted faster than the Gov or the supplier who is at fault. And yet they are the ones getting hit. Do better.

from all we know taco bell did everything right. they caught it early, pulled any possible products, and were way ahead of both the government and the supplier whose fault it actually was. but it’s getting pinned on them

And since Taylor Farms *hasn't* issued that recall, you are currently far more likely to get sick from your groceries than Taco Bell. News orgs putting Taco Bell instead of Taylor Farms in their headlines are not putting public health first.

Taco Bell *wants* you to be alive and well so you can eat at their restaurants. The FDA (in the current administration iteration of it) could not care less if you live or die.

So Taylor Farms is the culprit and yet Taco Bell is still the one trending and whatnot. Taylor Farms donates money to maga, so go figure. To my local friends, Earthbound Organics is the brand in our area that is using Taylor Farms lettuces.

I can't believe Taco Bell is the voice of reason in a conversation about explosive diarrhea.

Yes, that's how business works, you have to be aware of the risks. Preventing foodborne illness caused by contamination in their fresh produce supply chain is not Taco Bell's responsibility or something it's practically capable of doing. Forbes's framing is shameful.

Taylor Farms is the source. Can we please stop saying Taco Bell?? Taylor Farms distributes to McDonalds,Burger King, Subway, Wendy's, KFC, Pizza Hut Chipotle. Grocery stores Walmart, Kroger, Costco, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Safeway, Sam's Club, Albertsons, Meijer, Aldi, Winn-Dixie, Stop & Shop.

It's insane that the news is reporting this in headlines as "Taco Bell responsible for the diarrhea parasite" and not "Taylor Farms, supplier of many fast food restaurants and prepackaged salads, responsible for diarrhea parasite"

For those who don’t know Taylor Farms and Sysco are the one most likely responsible for this parasite being in the lettuce. They’re the grower and supplier, most likely the reason Taco Bell is being scapegoated is because taylor farms and Sysco are major Republican donors which include Trump.

A politician could flip a whole generation of voters by focusing on Taylor Farms instead of Taco Bell.
