Kimi K3 isn't worth the hype (overpriced and inferior to recent OpenAI releases) but Sinophobia in the US driving a lot of the best global AI researchers to China is definitely a real thing and is extremely empire's-end coded.

It is now evidently clear that no matter how long frontier models are ahead of the top open weights models (months), the difference is increasingly meaningless. Kimi K3 is a turning point and frontier labs are freaking the fuck out.
