Two U.S. troops killed, one missing after Iranian missile attack on Jordan

Two US service members were killed and one remains missing after Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks in Jordan on Friday, US Central Command said. Centcom said four US service members were medically evacuated to Jordan hospitals and have since been discharged, and others with minor injuries have returned to duty. Jordan’s military said it intercepted 10 Iranian missiles fired into its airspace overnight, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed it destroyed at least two US fighter aircraft at Al-Azraq base, a claim Centcom declined to confirm. The US death toll in the conflict rose to 16 after an American Navy pilot missing earlier this month was declared dead. Centcom withheld identities and additional details until next of kin notifications, and US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth wrote, "Godspeed, heroes. Their sacrifice only stiffens our resolve." The State Department advised Americans in the region to monitor news and exercise increased caution amid heightened tensions that have included a US blockade on Iranian ports and repeated strikes and counterstrikes across the Middle East.

They are dead because of Donald Trump. To this day we never got a coherent explanation for why the President illegally attacked Iran in the first place (vague muttering about "Israel made us" or "nuke-u-lur" doesn't count), and we still have no strategy for getting back to the status quo.
