Two U.S. troops killed, one missing after Iranian missile attack on Jordan

Two US service members were killed and one remains missing after Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks in Jordan on Friday, US Central Command said. Centcom said four US service members were medically evacuated to Jordan hospitals and have since been discharged, and others with minor injuries returned to duty. Jordan’s military said it intercepted 10 Iranian missiles fired into its airspace overnight, and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed it destroyed at least two US fighter aircraft at Al-Azraq base, a claim Centcom declined to confirm. Centcom withheld the identities of the dead and additional details until families are notified, and US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth wrote, “Godspeed, heroes. Their sacrifice only stiffens our resolve.” The US death toll in the conflict has risen to 16 after a Navy pilot declared dead earlier this month. The State Department urged Americans in the region to monitor breaking developments and exercise increased caution as exchanges of strikes have intensified this week, including a US blockade on Iranian ports and Tehran declaring the Strait of Hormuz closed.

They are dead because of Donald Trump. To this day we never got a coherent explanation for why the President illegally attacked Iran in the first place (vague muttering about "Israel made us" or "nuke-u-lur" doesn't count), and we still have no strategy for getting back to the status quo.
