Zendaya appears at Spider-Man: Brand New Day photo call
popping it in here because it makes me laugh every time. he also talks about how spider-man got six months of extra time to work on the script (and hire a director lmao) bc of the odyssey schedule www.gq.com/story/matt-d...
I love how much this sounds like a kid who just did a semester abroad and now is constantly saying “well, in France, we-“
It's SO funny that he said all this stuff like a month before he has to start doing Marvel press
He really did do h the act dumb and innocent to get people to do better
I hope Coogler sees that and understands he now has the juice to allow for Nolanesque-behavior. More so than the Russos, imho. Yes, even as a Black man in Hollywood.
rindo o bichinho finalmente fez um filme de vdd e ficou "então galera. filmar sem roteiro é meio uó hein... meu amigo e colaborador Christopher Nolan não faria assim hein..."
This is poignant in light of Holland’s injury filming his latest spider outing. I’m not sure when the injury happened vis-a-vis ODYSSEY’s production schedule, but one of the primary reasons you script & storyboard ahead of time, especially in an action film, is so people *don’t get hurt*.
the preceding paragraph for kicks (www.gq.com/story/matt-d...)
There's a not-zero chance the new Spider-Man will be more like a real movie
You may or may not love Nolan movies, but him showing Tom Holland how good it is to *have a fucking plan,* and then for Holland to mouth off to Marvel about that? That's *chef kiss.*
lol Tom Holland was in one real movie for once and suddenly he's calling Marvel execs like "hey did you know some people actually write the movie before they film it?"
incrível o Tom Holand fascinado por fazer o primeiro filme de verdade da carreira dele e tentando ensinar a marvel
Almost all of Holland's work was within the usual rushed studio system that "fixes everythingin post and reshoots." He works ONE movie with an old school filmmaker who often fixes everything at the script level before shooting a single scene and he's like "Guys, can we do this?" And he's right.
The fact that the lead actor had to tell the directors, writers, and execs at Disney/Marvel that the movie they were working on had to be fully planned out is very sad
I'm more excited for Spider-Man Brand New Day than I am Doomsday.
I'm dying waiting for Spider-Man, but I think Doomsday is on the right track with how Doom himself is being portrayed. I just think I need to wait for Doomsday because it's a movie that sounds weird on paper, but could work in execution.
Same. With Spider-Man, I'm looking forward to seeing where the story's gonna be heading after No Way Home. Doomsday, no clue where they're heading, given everything behind the scenes with switching out Kang with Doctor Doom. Though I believe the action & visuals are gonna be carrying the film to me
