Jasper Philipsen of Alpecin-Premier Tech won Stage 17 of the Tour de France on 22 July in Voiron by sprinting clear from a group of twenty-six riders to beat Mauro Schmid of Jayco AlUla and Olav Kooij of Decathlon CMA CGM. The Belgian took his first stage win of the 2026 edition after a run of top-five sprint placings in Pau, Bordeaux, Bergerac, Nevers and Chalon-sur-Saône. Philipsen had won at least one stage in every Tour since 2022 and celebrated with raised arms after the victory. The result also cut his deficit in the points classification to seven points behind green jersey leader Mads Pedersen. Teammate Mathieu van der Poel provided a decisive lead-out for the sprint according to race reports. With three stages remaining before the Paris finish, the points competition has tightened and remains contested between Pedersen and Philipsen.
