Salvador Perez ties Royals franchise home run record with 317th

Salvador Perez hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning to tie George Brett's Kansas City Royals franchise record with 317 career home runs. Perez's shot came with Vinnie Pasquantino on second and cut the Giants' lead to 3-2 before the Royals batted around for five runs in the inning. Seth Lugo allowed three runs and finished with 7.0 innings, three hits, two walks, five strikeouts and three earned runs for the Giants. Landen Roupp started for San Francisco and was lifted in the seventh after Perez's homer; Sam Hentges and Keaton Winn were among relievers used as the inning unfolded. The Royals completed a 5-4 victory to sweep the series, with Lane Thomas delivering the run that provided the final margin in the same rally. The seven-run swing in the seventh produced Kansas City's first lead of the game and sealed the sweep in the homestand finale.
