House Republicans adopt $95 billion package to fund Iran war
The White House posted on Facebook claiming that 198 Democrats voted against banning members of Congress from trading stocks while in office. What they don’t tell you is that House Republicans attached the SAVE Act to the bill.
Opposing the combined bill is not the same as opposing a ban on congressional stock trading. Context matters.
Dems need to get better and louder about making these kind of games clear.
Call these traitors. Not only did they vote to merge the Israeli military with ours - they also voted for the SAVE Act. They should hear from us. Don Davis (202) 225-3101 Jared Golden (202) 225-6306 Adam Gray (202) 225-1947 Vicente Gonzalez (202) 225-2531 Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (202) 225-3536
You do realize that is not normal? In a normal country a bill is for one specific topic and it's not randomly attached to a completely different topic?
It’s such performative horse shit. Give us a clean bill you complete assholes. The GOP sucks more than I could ever express. I don’t want insider trading but I don’t want the SAVE act even more. Fucking jerks.
Facebook is a cesspool of misinformation and lies. Nasty place, nasty business!
This. Is. BAD. Call your senators now, Beautiful Bsky Peeps. (202) 224-3121.
Let's separate the two and see how each does on its own merits
Because they WILL enforce the SAVE Act part, but they WON'T enforce the stock trading ban. At least, not against their friends.
House Republicans have approved funds to restrict your vote. They passed a filibuster-proof funding bill that bypasses Democratic opposition to 'provide up to $10 billion to enforce severe new voting restrictions championed by Mr. Trump.' The number for the Senate switchboard is (202) 224-3121
It also includes $73 billion to fund Trump's war of choice in Iran. The bill faces a challenge in the Senate, including from R's Lisa Murchowski and Thom Tillis opposing including the funds for voting restrictions.
No way, this is bullshit, they can't win without oppressing us.
