That Resident Evil movie trailer has a bunch of visual shorthand for game mechanics and it's wild to see people say it's nothing like the games. Like, Cregger is clearly making shots evocative of safe rooms and inventory management. The guy looking out the window to see an enemy is straight up RE2.

Throwing my chips into the ring. This is going to be the best Resident Evil movie. Genuinely RE is almost always at it's best/scariest when it's following someone's first experience in the world, and having a movie set in the world without necessarily following the main narratives looks awesome.

It was brief, but 100% I see most people would be like that.
