Tom Stewart1I'm not the only one who thought it was turgid then. I'm a fan of certain 'prog' bands; King Crimson, Gabriel era Genesis for example but that was bad. Not only that, but I thought an orchestra would pack a punch but not for me, I'm afraid.

Just turned on this prog prom. The ability of classically trained musicians on these gimmick proms, whether its prog or northern soul, to make everything sound like Raymond Lefevre or a BBC session orchestra never ceases to amaze me.
Uniformbooks4Everything lacks the particular character of the originals. It seems a bit of a pointless exercise, it’s just the tunes. And You and I, by Yes has the most sublime moments in prog, but it was made thin. Out-Bloody-Rageous wasn’t bad.
Andy Lewis 4I have played Raymond Lefevre's As You Please* at a northern soul do, and it went down a storm. Admittedly it was in Stockholm & they didn't know who it was. Which made it all the funnier really, seeing the floor absolutely heaving with people having fun (*aka the theme tune to Pebble Mill At One)
